Here are answers to the most common questions before you book.
How long does furniture assembly take?
It depends entirely on the piece of furniture. A simple chest of drawers can take under an hour, while a large PAX wardrobe or a whole kitchen takes considerably longer. Describe the furniture in your request, ideally with photos of the packaging or instructions, so your Runner can give a better estimate.
What does it cost to assemble IKEA furniture?
There are no fixed prices. You describe the job, and interested Runners submit bids based on the type and size of the furniture and how extensive the assembly is. You then choose which Runner to hire based on the bid, their profile and previous reviews.
Do I need to buy tools myself?
No, your Runner brings the tools needed for the assembly, including a drill or hammer drill if the furniture also needs to be secured to the wall.
Can I get help with several pieces of furniture at once?
Yes, describe everything you need help with in your request, for example several pieces of furniture in the same room or furniture in different rooms, so your Runner can plan the visit and give you a combined bid.
What kinds of furniture assembly can TaskRunner help with?
Your Runner can assemble most things, for example wardrobes, chests of drawers, beds and bunk beds, sofas, dining sets, shelves, desks, office furniture, kitchens, bathroom furniture, children's furniture, outdoor furniture, trampolines and exercise equipment. Furniture from IKEA, JYSK, MIO and other suppliers works just as well. If you can't find your particular piece of furniture in the list, describe it in your request and the Runner will know what it involves.
Does furniture need to be secured to the wall?
Some furniture, such as wardrobes, chests of drawers and shelves, should be secured to the wall for safety reasons, especially if there are children or pets in the home. Mention it in your request if you want it done, and your Runner will bring the right tools for your wall type.
Can the Runner take care of boxes and packaging afterwards?
Yes, let your Runner know in good time if you want help with that. It's worth knowing that the assembly itself qualifies for the RUT deduction, but transporting packaging to recycling counts as a separate service that is not covered by the RUT deduction.
Does the RUT deduction apply to furniture assembly?
Yes, furniture assembly through TaskRunner qualifies for the RUT deduction. This means you only pay 50% of the labour cost yourself. The deduction is applied directly on the invoice.
Is the job insured?
Yes, all jobs carried out through TaskRunner are insured through If. You can read more about what the insurance covers on our insurance page.
Can I cancel if I change my mind?
Yes, you can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the job is due to be carried out. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours, a fee applies. If the job is booked and due to be carried out the same day, it unfortunately cannot be cancelled. If you have hired a Runner but no longer want the help, it is your responsibility to cancel. If we hear nothing from you in the chat, a cancellation fee of 199 kronor may apply.
