What does it cost?
TaskRunner has no fixed price lists. You describe what you need help with, Runners who want to take on the job lay bids on it, and you choose which one to accept — so you're never stuck paying a rate that doesn't fit your job.
Below, we go through what shapes the bids, and what's worth including in your request for each type of job. The more of this you answer up front, the more accurate the bids you get back — and the easier they are to compare against each other.
The price covers the labour, not the materials. Paint, screws, wall plugs, plants and the like are extra unless expressly included. If the job qualifies for the ROT or RUT deduction, we handle the application to the Swedish Tax Agency — the deduction applies to the labour cost. What qualifies is decided by the Swedish Tax Agency.
Four things that shape the bids
Time
The biggest factor in almost every job. A clear description makes the estimate accurate — and makes it less likely the time runs over on the day.
Scope
The number of items, square metres, boxes or pieces of furniture. Two similar jobs of different sizes rarely cost the same per unit.
Materials and tools
Whether paint, screws, wall plugs or tools are included, or whether the Runner needs to bring them. Materials are not covered by the ROT or RUT deduction.
Conditions on site
Which floor and whether there's a lift, wall material, accessibility, whether anything is fragile — and whether you can help out yourself.
What to think about, by type of job
Tick off as many as you can when you write your request.
Handyman
Hanging and drilling, painting and wallpapering, repairs and renovation.
- How many items need to be mounted or hung, and how long do you think it will take?
- What material are the wall or ceiling made of? Concrete, plasterboard and tile differ both in time and tools needed.
- Do you already have screws and wall plugs at home, or does the Runner need to bring them?
- For painting: how large is the area, is the paint included, and is preparation such as sanding or a primer coat needed?
- Can you help hold things, or does the job need two people?
Furniture assembly
IKEA, JYSK, MIO and all other assembly — flat pack in, finished furniture out.
- How many pieces of furniture need assembling, and what type? A PAX wardrobe is a different job from a bedside table.
- What's the estimated difficulty, and how long do you think it will take?
- Should packaging and boxes be taken away afterwards?
- Does it include collection or delivery, or is the furniture already on site?
Transport and removals
From A to B, removal help, carrying help, and rubbish to the recycling centre.
- What's the distance, and what needs transporting?
- How much does it weigh, and is anything bulky or fragile?
- Do you need a car or a van — and how many people are needed?
- Is there a lift, or is it stairs? Which floor?
- Will you help carry things yourself?
- For recycling: what volume, and has it been sorted?
Garden help
Lawn mowing, weeding, pruning, planting and removal.
- How large is the area to be mowed, weeded or cleared?
- What's the terrain like — flat, sloping, hard to access?
- Are there tools available, or does the Runner need to bring their own?
- Does it include removing branches, brush and garden waste?
- For planting: how many plants, and are they flowers or shrubs and trees?
Tech and other
Tech help at home, an extra pair of hands, and anything that doesn't fit another category.
- What's the estimated difficulty, and how long do you think it will take?
- How many things or problems need sorting out?
- How many people are needed?
- Is there any extra cost for materials?
