Frequently asked questions

Here are answers to the most common questions before you book.

Can the Runner drill into the walls of older Stockholm apartments?

Yes, many of our Runners are used to turn-of-the-century buildings with thick plastered walls, brick or old concrete — exactly the kind of wall that's common in areas like Vasastan and Södermalm. Feel free to mention which area you live in and roughly what year the building was built, so the Runner knows what to expect.

Do I need approval from the housing association before the Runner comes?

It depends on the job. Some work, such as electrical work, window replacement or work on load-bearing walls, usually requires the board's approval in a housing association. It's your responsibility as the customer to have that approval before booking, but feel free to ask your Runner if you're unsure whether your particular job requires it.

What does the Runner do if there's no parking near my address?

Many Runners are used to Stockholm's parking situation and factor it into the time needed, but it can affect the price if it takes extra time to find parking or if paid parking is required. Feel free to mention in your request if you know parking is difficult where you live.

Can I book a Runner in the evenings or on weekends if I work full time?

Yes, many of our Runners are available evenings and weekends, which is exactly what many people in Stockholm need when weekdays are fully booked. State your preferred time in your request, and you'll be matched with a Runner who has that time free.

Does the RUT or ROT deduction apply to handyman services in Stockholm?

It depends on the service, not on where in the country you live. Simpler jobs such as hanging and drilling or assembling furniture are RUT-eligible, with a 50% deduction. Renovation and installation work, such as electrical work, kitchen renovation and facade renovation, is ROT-eligible, with a 30% deduction, meaning you pay 70% of the labour cost.

Is the job insured?

Yes, every job carried out through TaskRunner is insured through If. You can read more about what the insurance covers on our insurance page.

Can I cancel if I change my mind?

Yes, you can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the job is due to be carried out. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours, a fee applies. If the job is booked for the same day, it unfortunately can't be cancelled. If you've hired a Runner but no longer want the help, it's your responsibility to cancel. If we don't hear from you in the chat, a cancellation fee of 199 kronor may apply.
