What's included in appliance installation?
Your Runner connects and installs your new appliance, for example a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer or cooker, in line with applicable safety requirements. If a fixed electrical installation is needed as part of the job, a licensed electrician is brought in separately for that part.
Can the Runner run new water pipes or wiring during the installation?
No. Running new water pipes or fixed wiring requires a licensed plumber or electrician, for safety reasons. Your Runner installs the appliance using the existing connections for water, drainage and electricity. If new connections need to be run, that's a separate service we can help you book.
What do I need to prepare before the installation?
Make sure there's access to water, drainage and a power outlet where the appliance is going. If it's a heavier appliance like a fridge or freezer, it can help to know in advance whether you'll need carrying help, for example if it has to be carried up stairs.
Do I get a tax deduction on appliance installation?
It depends on how the installation is classified — whether it counts as a standalone installation or as part of a larger renovation. We'd rather give you correct information than guess, so get in touch in your request and we'll help you work out what applies to your particular job.
What affects the price of appliance installation?
The price depends on things like the type of appliance being installed, whether carrying help is needed, and whether it's a new installation or a replacement of an existing appliance. Send a request and describe the job, ideally with photos, and you'll get bids from Runners who can help you.
How do I book appliance installation?
The easiest way is to download the TaskRunner app (Get the job done) or create a request directly on the website. Describe which appliance needs installing, ideally with photos, and when you need help. If you create the request on the website, you'll need to download the app to receive bids and hire a Runner.
Is it safe to pay through TaskRunner?
Yes. You pay directly in the app when you hire a Runner, and the money is held until the job is finished and you've approved it. If something isn't right, our refund policy protects you.
