Kitchen assembly means a Runner puts together and installs your new kitchen fittings — carcasses, doors, drawers and worktop — according to the manufacturer's instructions. Perfect if you've bought a new kitchen (for example from IKEA or another supplier) and want it assembled quickly and correctly.
Frequently asked questions
Here are answers to the most common questions before you book.
What's included in kitchen assembly?
Your Runner assembles your new kitchen fittings according to the manufacturer's instructions, for example carcasses, doors, drawers and worktop. Great if you've already bought a kitchen, for example from IKEA, and want it assembled quickly and correctly.
Can the Runner connect water, drainage or electricity to the kitchen?
No, not as part of standard kitchen assembly. Connecting a dishwasher, tap or built-in hob requires a licensed plumber or electrician, for the same safety reasons that apply to all fixed installation work in the home. If you need that help too, you can book it as a separate service and we'll make sure the right person does the job.
Do I need to have all the parts and tools ready before the Runner arrives?
It's good if the kitchen has already been delivered and unpacked, so the Runner can start straight away. If you don't have your own tools, that's usually fine — most Runners bring what's needed for assembly. If you're unsure what your particular kitchen needs, mention it in your request.
What affects the price of kitchen assembly?
The price depends on things like the size of the kitchen, how many cabinets and doors need assembling, and whether it has custom measurements. Send a request and describe the job, ideally with photos of the kitchen and the assembly instructions, and you'll get bids from Runners who can help you.
Does the RUT deduction apply to kitchen assembly?
Yes, kitchen assembly through TaskRunner is RUT-eligible. This means you only pay 50% of the labour cost yourself. The deduction is applied directly on the invoice.
How do I book help with kitchen assembly?
The easiest way is to download the TaskRunner app (Get the job done) or create a request directly on the website. Describe the kitchen you're assembling, ideally with photos and assembly instructions, and when you need help. If you create the request on the website, you'll need to download the app to receive bids and hire a Runner.
Is it safe to pay through TaskRunner?
Yes. You pay directly in the app when you hire a Runner, and the money is held until the job is finished and you've approved it. If something isn't right, our refund policy protects you.
